My Home at Christmas

I’m finally getting a chance to share my home decorated for Christmas.  I had every intention of sharing this about 3 weeks ago…but it took awhile for me to get everything up.  It’s been a super busy time with all of the fun activities with the kids this time of year so I haven’t had as much time to dedicate to blogging.  My family is my first priority and this is just what I do when they are either asleep or at school!

December 23rd has special meaning to me because it’s the day I finally got to take our first child home from the hospital after she was born.  She had to stay in the hospital a few extra days because she was jaundice.  I scooped her up today and rocked my big 4 year old until she said stop mom.  I asked her if she would stay close to home the rest of her life and she said yes, phew! HA!

I would love to hear what some of your Christmas Eve traditions are.  We will be going to a Christmas Eve service and then a big dinner at our family’s house.  Then, Santa comes and this year he doesn’t have much to assemble 😉  Merry Christmas everybody!

It’s so wonderful that you love to decorate with sentimental things that have been in our family for years. I love seeing my Mom, Memaw Lucas’, blue and white canisters in the kitchen, the ballerina originally given to me by your great, great Aunt Adah, the other ballerina we gave you for your high school graduation, the beautiful porcelain figure that graced Memaw’s home for years and the piano that used to be in our home. Not only is your home beautifully and tastefully decorated, but it’s filled with things that have been loved and treasured for years by past generations. Way to go Jess–I am so proud of you!
P.S. And I LOVE the fact that you have the children’s artwork on your refrigerator. 🙂
