The Best Gluten Free Apple Crisp

Warm apple crisp for a cold fall day- nothing is better!

Ingredients

Scale

Filling:

  • 10 granny smith apples
  • 1/2 C sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 C apple cider or sparkling apple cider
  • 2 T lemon juice
  • 2 T cornstarch

Topping:

  • 1 1/1 C gluten free oats
  • 1/2 C gluten free flour
  • 2/3 C brown sugar
  • 1/4 C white sugar
  • 1 T vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 3/4 C pecans, chopped
  • 1/4 C water

 

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375 F. In a large bowl combine all filling ingredients besides apples. Set aside. Peel and slice apples and toss with filling mixture. Place coated apples into a greased baking dish.

 

For the topping: Pulse or chop pecans into small bits. Combine with the the dry topping ingredients and pour over apples. Slice butter into pats and evenly distribute across the top of the crumble. Sprinkle with the 1/4 C of water. Bake for 1 hour and enjoy!

Notes

Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream to your serving – trust me!
