Architect Spotlight: Khoury & Vogt Architects At Alys Beach

When I think of magical romantic Moroccan inspired architecture in the U.S. I think of the work by Khoury & Vogt Architects at Alys Beach. Because of the attention to all the details the area is just incredible. In this interview of the architects, they give insight into the planning of the community. As soon as you arrive in the area, you’ll feel inspired by the space immediately. There are a few different styles of homes designed and many of them incorporate the elements together. You’ll find a blend between the outdoor and indoor spaces that helps to accommodate the extended families expected to visit.

Many of the homes are known for having high ceilings with Moroccan inspired archways and details. Since each home designed by Khoury & Vogt has something special, it’s like a treasure hunt. From the detailed stairway in the image below to the barreled doorways and vaulted wooden ceilings. As a result, Alys Beach is a luxurious getaway like no other. If you’re looking for a fantastic display of architecture and want to hunt for the details I’d definitely suggest heading to Alys Beach. You can see some of the signature Alys Beach details in my post here from our Thanksgiving dinner setting.
