It’s been a crazy 12 months for most of us, and if you’re anything like me, you probably appreciate an extra boost in the health and wellness department when things get stressful. I’m always on the lookout for simple ways to look and feel my best, so when I heard about EMFs — a type of damaging radiation that comes from electronics — I was intrigued. Immediately, I knew I needed to reduce my EMF exposure though I wasn’t sure how.
I heard that EMFs impact how you feel, and that you can limit your exposure to EMFs and improve your wellbeing with a few simple lifestyle changes. I decided to give them a try.
After a few months of minimizing EMFs, let me tell you: the difference has been huge. I’m calmer and less stressed, I don’t get a midday dip in energy anymore, and I’m even sleeping better.
And when I started limiting my kids’ EMF exposure, I noticed an immediate improvement in them, too!

What Are EMFs?
EMF stands for electromagnetic field. It’s a type of radiation that comes from all kinds of sources. You know when you go to the dentist and the hygienist puts a padded cover on you before taking X-rays? That’s because X-rays expose you to dangerously high levels of EMFs.

When I started reading about EMFs, I was shocked to learn that they can cause a variety of health issues, especially if you use technology a lot.

EMFs are tricky because they’re everywhere and have been for years, so you may not even realize that they’re affecting your wellbeing. But if you’re like me, you might be amazed by how good you feel once you finally start to get rid of them.
Three Simple Ways to Reduce EMF Exposure
I didn’t realize that EMFs were affecting me (or my kids) until I started decreasing my exposure to them. Once I did, I felt an immediate improvement in my daily life. Here’s what I did to minimize our EMF burden.
1. Try Less Screen Time
I know, I know — it’s tempting to throw on a good movie or TV show at the end of a long day. But phones, computers, TVs, tablets, and other electronic devices all emit EMFs, so we’ve been reducing screen time at night.
Cutting back has made a big difference, especially with the girls. We’re all sleeping much better and spending more family time together, which is always a joy.
2. Turn Off the WiFi at Night
Another simple way to minimize EMFs is to turn off your WiFi router before bed. WiFi signals are EMFs, and turning them off at night makes a big difference. It’s a full 8 hours without EMFs at the flip of a switch!
