Having the most flattering trench coat for your body type is a closet-must have. It’s a mindless layer to throw on over almost any outfit. There’s nothing that speaks chic more than a trench coat. E

Apple Body Types: It is best to go with a looser empire or a line shape trench coat, avoiding belts as well as heavy embellishments around the midsection of the coat.

Pear Body Types: Cropped trench coats work well for the pear shape. That will make the shoulders more full and appear proportional, and flap details, shoulder details, and belts always help define more shape the best suit your shape.

Hourglass Body Types: Longer coats continue to elongate the body which is always helpful. For the hourglass, belted waists will further accentuate the small waist. Opt for something double breasted styles with a longer fitted shape.

Rectangle Body Types: Volume is key. An a line shape will look great. Double breasted styles give the illusion of a full and balanced look. Belted styles are another great way to define the waist for a great proportional
silhouette. Embellishments around the shoulders are a fabulous way to add more volume.

Inverted Triangle Body Types:
Simple clean styles like a single breasted coat works best for the inverted triangle. Avoiding bulk from flaps, and shoulder details is the goal, so keep the detail and volume for below the waist. Belted waists help flare the bottom of the coat out for perfect balance.
