A look back at what I loved, bought, wore, read, listened to, and where we wandered this summer.

This has been, without question, the busiest season of my life — and I am still trying to catch my breath from all of it. It started with the Kentucky Derby, always a homecoming of sorts, and rolled straight into Memorial Day at Palmetto Bluff. From there it was on to Charleston for Tastemaker Travels — getting to spend real time with those girls again was worth every mile of the trip. I made a quick trip to Dallas for a design meeting on the house, and then came the news I have been waiting months to share — we finally received our last permit for the renovation, which means real progress is coming, the kind I can actually start showing you. In between all of it, I snuck up to Cashiers a couple of times, just enough to remember what quiet feels like. Most recently, I spent a week in New York with my girls, got stuck at LaGuardia for twelve hours on the way home, and somehow made it back to the mountains just in time to celebrate the Fourth of July.
Below, the new edition — the pieces I have been reaching for through all of it, the recent purchases, the beautiful finds, and a real look at what this season has actually looked like behind the scenes.
