Denim is usually where I start when I want an outfit to feel easy but still pulled together. What does the day look like? Am I heading to the office, grabbing lunch, running errands, meeting friends for happy hour, or going straight into dinner? The right pair of jeans can work for all of it—it is really the styling around them that changes the mood.
So, for The Denim Dress Code, I created seven looks for seven different kinds of days. Think polished jackets, soft knits, elevated tops, great shoes, and accessories that can take denim from casual to completely dressed up without making the outfit feel complicated.
That is what I love most about denim in the fall. A simple pair of jeans can feel brand new when you add a rich suede jacket, a beautiful belt, a statement bag, or a heel instead of a sneaker. You do not need a completely different wardrobe for every plan—you just need a few really good pieces that know how to work together.
These seven looks are really about making everyday dressing feel easier and a little more fun. Whether your calendar is full or you just want to feel more polished for the everyday, there is plenty here to inspire your next outfit. Start with great denim, build around the day, and let the finishing pieces do the rest.
