5 Ways to Style a $20 Sweater for the Holidays
I recently found this beaded sweater and I officially love it. It’s under $20 and it also comes in cream and black. You should probably just buy all three because it’s that good 😉
The Fit:
I have a long torso and I always wear high waisted pants. This sweater was the perfect length for high waisted pants on me. If you are shorter in the waist I think it would be fine if you don’t have a long torso. When I say I have a long torso, I mean…my Chiro said I should join the circus because of it. Anyways, I’m wearing a size small and it was still super roomy. It kind of looks boxy off the hanger, but just give it a chance. My jeans are old from Abercrombie, but here and here are similar styles. I love their jeans, especially their high waisted denim.
How to Style This Sweater:
When you pair this sweater with something sparkly it instantly gives holiday vibes. If I worked in an office, I could wear this all winter long paired with a pencil skirt or pants… probably wide leg because I’m dramatic like that. If I wanted to wear this on a playdate, I would wear it with denim and cute sneakers. To wear to a casual party, I would style it with flat sparkly mules like I’m wearing in the photos. Going to a dressier party, I would pair it with a sparkly pencil skirt and heels/sock booties OR a shorter skirt with over the knee boots. Look below for links to the exact breakdown of how I would style this sweater.
Office:
beaded sweater | straight pant | wide leg pant | pencil skirt | heels
Playdate:
beaded sweater | high waisted black denim #1 | high waisted black denim #2 | sneaker #1 | sneaker #2 | sneaker #3 (SPLURGE)
Casual Party:
beaded sweater | high waisted black denim | sparkly mules | shiny mules | sparkly flats
Dressier Party:
beaded sweater | knee length sequin skirt | sock booties | short sequin skirt | over the knee boots
Church:
beaded sweater | pleated midi skirt | heels | sock booties
There you have it folks, a versatile sweater with a little touch of extra at an affordable price. Have a fab weekend. This is the last weekend I’ll be 35, so CHEERS to my pre-birthday weekend. -Jess
