The Edition V

Apr 5

The year kicked off at full throttle, and I don’t see it slowing down until the kids are zipping up their backpacks for the first day of school in August.

We’ve been on the move—family adventures, weekend escapes, and the occasional (glorious) girls trip that reminds me my house can, in fact, run without me for 24 hours. Who knew?

There’s something about this season of life that feels lighter, freer. Starting my 40s has been a gift—one wrapped in a little wisdom, a lot more confidence, and thankfully, way fewer diaper bags. After a decade spent deep in the beautiful chaos of pregnancies and breastfeeding (three kids in three years—yes, really), this new chapter is all about savoring the sweet spot: kids who still want to hang out with me, but are old enough to zip their own coats.

And let’s talk shopping, shall we? Because my delivery driver definitely knows me by name at this point. I’ve been diving into spring style with a renewed obsession—colorful capsules, timeless accessories, and those unexpected “wow” pieces that make your closet feel fresh again. I’ll share a few of my current must-haves below, along with what’s sitting in my cart (and what may or may not have already been checked out at midnight last week).

Whether you’re here for outfit inspo, a peek into my latest travels, or just some real-life 40s energy, I’m so glad you’re along for the ride. Let’s jump in.

This year didn’t tiptoe in—it made an entrance in sequins and champagne. We wrapped up 2024 and rang in the New Year at Sea Island, surrounded by friends, festive cheer, and what has quickly become one of our favorite new traditions. There’s something magical about that post-Christmas lull—the tree still twinkling, everyone in soft clothes and soft schedules. Hands down, that final week of December is my favorite of the year.

Just a few weeks later, we traded the pine trees for palm trees and set sail on the Ritz-Carlton Yacht around the British Virgin Islands. It was a dreamy escape filled with sun, salt air, and a whole lot of SPF. If you caught my deep dive on Instagram, you already know I gave the full scoop comparing the Ritz Yacht to Silversea.  I’m still a Silversea girl at heart, but both were luxe experiences worth every sun-soaked second.

Then came the snow—lots of it. We jetted off to Telluride for MLK weekend with close family friends, and despite temperatures dipping below zero (yes, really), our girls tackled the slopes like champs. Telluride remains our favorite ski town—cozy, scenic, and just the right mix of charm and challenge. We checked into the Madeline Hotel, which was fabulous and officially on my highly-recommend list.

When spring break is split between kids, the only answer is…double the vacations, right?

The first week of March, we packed up our two youngest daughters and headed to the Four Seasons in the Bahamas—our first time bringing the kids along to this dreamy, tucked-away resort. It was slower, quieter, and wonderfully private—the kind of place where your shoulders drop two inches the moment you check in. The girls made fast friends at the pool (every parent’s secret wish come true), which meant mom and dad actually got to sit still for a second and gasp enjoy a cocktail.

Round two of spring break rolled in the very next week, this time with my oldest daughter—who is 12 going on 22—and my best friend for the ultimate girls’ getaway to Palm Beach. We shopped, swam, soaked up the sun, and indulged in all the girly luxuries. It was relaxing, memory-making magic, and I swear we laughed for three days straight. She loved the one-on-one time, and I loved seeing this new stage of her personality unfold—strong, sweet, and full of opinions about where to eat and what to wear. (I may have created a mini me.)
